Our Charity Announcements

Keith's final run for charity, let's support Keith in his final hour of need :slgy:
Image

Keith says "The photo above was taken seconds after I had finished my comeback race after my 2013 surgery. This is my rock, Joyce, my wife of over 39 years (40 next July!) who has been my best friend, lover, mother (you name it) all rolled into one. Without her, I would have gone mad during my time in the service and recently whilst suffering then recuperating from my illness (blocked arteries which needed the Stents!). "

Hello room retired prison officer here for the first time
Guest - Wed Oct 24, 2012 2:06 pm
Hi I'm a new member, just found the forum. Have logged in and want to start a new topic but can't find any buttons that will allow me to make a post. Can anyone advise?
Guest - Wed Oct 24, 2012 2:16 pm
FAQ's tell me to post a new topic in a forum, click the relevant button on either the forum or topic screens. Unfortunately, the relevant button is not visable or maybe I simply have not found it.
Guest - Wed Oct 24, 2012 7:05 pm
Found the problem. I was trying to make the post in the Executive Area, NIPS forum. When I tried the General Area the post was allowed.

Hello everybody I am Kelly and hope to be using the site frequently to get some views and opinions from yourselves. I am currently studying at a university and am doing a dissertation which aims to either corroborate or dismiss Professor Zimbardo's findings in his Prison Experiment. I would be grateful for any information relating to conformity amongst prison officers and how the application and selection process may reinforce attitudes towards prisoners that could result in abuses of power. Responses will form aspects of my research so please contribute as much as you can.

  • 2014 "SCREWS" CALENDAR
    Cartoon Version
  • A Big Thank You to John Child for putting together yet another "SCREWS" calendar for us.

Please comment on the calendar by replying on the topic!

The idea is that the calendar can be printed out using any common or garden printer, or even at your local friendly neighbourhood graphics shop.

If you are willing to spend a few sovs, your graphic shop can make the pdf into a sporty "real calendar" for something around £10, but just print it on your own printer!!

A lot cheaper, pin it up somewhere and of course hopefully, our website address can be shared with a few other friendly Prison Officers across the planet!

Please do let other people know about the calendar, either print one out for them or talk about the calendar on this site, Facebook, Twitter or even resorting to a megaphone along your High St would count!!
