I'm sorry to say guys, that I think you are on a hiding to nothing in so far as the petition is concerned.
The E.U. has decreed that every part of the public sector has to be hived off and privatised.
We've already seen them starting to make inroads on this with the Royal Mail and I knew that the N.H.S. was on the books marked 'ready to go'. However, I thought that under the prevailing political circumstances, they ( the government ) might have shelved that sort of thing until all the furore of the expenses scandal had died down a bit but on the news this evening, figures have been released suggesting that by 2011 the N.H.S. is going to be in very dire straights, that will now open the door for them to start publicly adjusting peoples thinking towards privatisation of the N.H.S. In the same way as privatisation of the prison service is now in the public forum, only as someone already said, the public couldn't careless about who employs the prison officers and keeps prisons working. You are the forgotten ones really. Whereas, the N.H.S. is seen by the public as a great deal more important than who pays the posti, prison officer, probation officer etc.

Is it me or is less than 3000 signatures for this petition a sign of our unions strength

If people cannot be bothered to sign this are we almost saying we dont care if we get part-privatised, clusterd and other cost cutting measures?

It is so dis-heartning for someone to post this petition and then see their peers destroy their hard work with heart breaking apathy.

Or am i wrong and there is a different reason very few people have signed this petition.

Shocking how few have signed the petition out of interest what is the POA's membership figure does anyone know?
If the petition is handed in with next to no signatures it will be as good as an endorsment rather than a show of resistence.
