Re: Footwear : If You cannot wear them then bye bye..

We have a number of staff with a Doctors note exempting them from wearing the footwear for whatever reason.
Its like a guy with a turban not being able to wear a helmet. No major problem .

Re: EU Unified Prison Service

The European union doesn't actually do much to draw us together as one.If it did we would all drive on the right side of the road.Or would it be the left ? One thing I do believe we should do is charge other countries for every national of there's in our prisons and in turn we compensate them for ou...

Re: To spank or not to spank our children.......

Violence begets violence. If you engage with your children effectively and put in the effort to teach them how to be good people there is never a need to assault them in any way. I once and only once have struck one of my children, she was poking a straightened paperclip into a plug socket! :slsh2:...

Re: To spank or not to spank our children.......

It;s a shame that people no longer have the intelligence to differentiate between spanking a child and beating the hell out of it.
Like anything else ,do it all the time and it loses it;s effect but as they say ,spare the rod ,spoil the child.

Re: HMPS & MITIE

Say goodbye to your security if this happens .Low paid workers smuggling whatever is required into prison. The Best option would be to allow private sector managers to replace our painfully inadequate Governors and keep the uniforms in place. Give them the power to manage budgets, contracts and contra...

Re: Gun Pulled on Two Officers - Prisoner Escape

Bullet proof vests on escort ? come on ? How about full riot gear for a funeral.Attack at gunpoint during hospital trips has always been a possibility and in some cases I have half expected it to happen, the amount of real handguns on the street is no surprise to some ,it is just taking the media and...

Re: 2012 Footwear issue.......

To my knowledge the PPE order was never rescinded,so foot wear is protective equipment and wearing it mandatory .Just because the PPE is defective or not fit for purpose doesn't suddenly allow the prison service to quietly distance itself from these boots. The services obligation to the worker is the...

Re: “independence” for Scotland!

Historically the Scots are descended from the Norman Invaders anyway as were the English royalty. The border of Scotland moved up and down over the years and Scotland has only existed in its current form for a relatively short time in the scheme of things. Would be interesting to see the reaction in...

And yes in years gone bye Scotland, Ireland etc have formed alliances with the French and other co...
