Re: lasagne

And funnily enough, it's what I've just had for dinner, along with garlic bread and coleslaw. Yum!

Re: lasagne

Nooooooo!
First a sheet of lasagna on the bottom, then layer the ragu and lasagna until you get to the top. Then a final layer of lasagna and then the bechamel sauce with mozzarella on top! :sllv:

Re: Prison officer stabbed in neck

My jail is close to 1,300 prisoners with about 190 officers, and not all working at the same time. We're meant to have about 220 officers, so we're running quite short. Normal working day should have about 60 - 70 officers to staff the whole jail. I have never heard of 600 officers to 800 prisoners....

Re: Prison officer stabbed in neck

A Prison Service spokeswoman said it had recently announced a major overhaul of the prison system, including 2,500 extra frontline officers. "HMP Norwich maintains appropriate and safe staffing levels on a daily basis and is actively recruiting for a number of prison officers," she added. "We do no...

Re: Rejected pay offer

Maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned, but I still wouldn't be terribly comfortable with that!

Re: Rejected pay offer

I'd be extremely wary of starting a job like this with nothing written in print as a hard copy!! Who's to say that they won't change your t's & c's without your knowledge? Before you know it, something could happen and when you say it's part (or not) of your contract (or they could say it), then whe...

Re: Withdrawal of labour

The injunction means that as a branch or committee, they are not allowed to ask us to stop doing PP or what have you; but, we as individuals can stop doing PP etc. If you feel unsafe, you are well within your rights as an employee to go to a 'place of safety'. If other people follow you, that is the...

Re: Boot Choices

Up until about a year or two ago, the prison issue boots were terrible. The ones now are actually quite light and comfy, surprisingly!

Try them out first and see how you get on with them, then get a medical certificate if you need to.

Re: Rejected pay offer

Let me get this right. Are people actually starting the job without wet-signing a hard copy contract?? :slsh2: :slbli:
I signed mine off (some years ago now) at least a month or two before I started training! Do they not give you one anymore?
