Re: Shifts/ days off

You do know that you can swap your shifts with another officer to suit what days you need off? Fixed rest days is generally only given to people that need them for childcare reasons etc. It would be highly unlikely that you'd get it just to go play football. There's usually plenty of people willing ...

Re: Investigations

I think Richard might be talking about serving staff being investigated for excessive use of force, or whatever. If so, they should be notified in writing about it. Either by letter or via email by the investigating governor. If you're worried about something, make sure to contact a POA rep and see ...

I was under the assumption that only females could be officers in a closed female prison.
It's 2017 now, not 1957... :slwh: :sley:

Re: Uniform (belts)

Get thee sen a viper belt. About £27 with loads of pouches. You'll only need a few, one for all your gloves, one for evidence bags and a torch etc. I've never known staff to carry evidence bags in a belt pouch! As for a torch, only ever used on nights. Get a Viper triple lock belt. Not expensive an...

Re: Theresa May to lift the 1% public sector pay freeze

What's confusing about it? Scroll down to where it shows you the salary tables (white page 56 or PDF page 70) and the lowest amount on the middle column on the right hand side of the page (for 37 hours plus 17% unsocial hours) is what you'll be starting on. Depending on whether you'll be working in ...

Re: Theresa May to lift the 1% public sector pay freeze

The lowest pay point is what new starters enter on. Not what you work up to. You work up from that lowest figure.

It might be page 70 then. Page 56 is on the bottom of the white page, not the PDF page :slwoot:

So un other words i get a 400 quid pay rise. The gucci figures originally quoted by purplepig were for staff in post
Only if you're a closed grade officer, will you get £400. If you're on F&S, then you'll get what the pics in Falkor's comment say. What part of the information is not clear?
