I have declared a fixed penalty fine and 3 points for speeding - (14 and 16 years ago) I've been given pretty encouraging information that usually if declared this kind of thing hasn't prevented people from getting in as it was a long time ago and not a criminal conviction. They don't show up on enhanced dbs but having read these forums thankfully I declared it. Some promising outcomes read on here so fingers crossed mine is ok too!

Thanks for letting me know I've been really worried mine were 10 years ago and about 6 years ago unsure on the date for them both, how far are u in vetting? Keep us updated on your progress it's good to see how others get on I really hope mine isn't that long I'm ready to leav my work place asap it's been a long time coming!! Do you happen to know with the poelt training what would happen if u don't pass? Or do they ensure working with you that u do pass? I'm unsure how it would look me going back to work after 10 weeks asking for my job back lol? Thanks again x

No pal. I didn't even write details down about what happend. Just said it was NFA.

TBH NFA means nothing. Anyone can be arrested and de arrested because not enough evidence etc!
If they have any doubts I'm sure they would ask about it though

I think it's really encouraging to hear other people's situations. I have worried sick about mine as if I am a criminal but I have been reassured that if it's not something that will deem you as a risk and you've declared it you should be ok?! It's the waiting that's the killer! I believe every candidate is assessed individually so you never know for sure. I didn't even think mine was a fixed penalty and forgot about the points on my licence and so emailed the disclosure after completing vetting forms and signing up to the forum - the general consensus seems to be honesty is the best policy! Like I say, I've worked with vulnerable people and it's never shown up on previous enhanced dbs' but I would hate to fail if it showed up on local police records and I jeopardised my chances through lack of honesty.
Now it's just a waiting game!
I'm only 5 weeks into vetting so by all accounts have a fair way to go yet. Some of these people have had 20 weeks of waiting - I take my hat off to them all. I am just going to wait now. If they have any questions they will contact you.
Good luck!

Hi guys,

So I've sent off all my vetting forms back. I had to declare something on the form which is really embarrassing so here it goes.

When I was 17 (2013) I was arrested for taking a bottle of milk off someone's door step. After a couple of hours in the cell I was then offered a Local resolution (community resolution)

I had to write an apology letter.

I know for a fact I wasn't convicted. And I also know my record shows "arrested- Theft". "Outcome- NFA"

On the vetting forms that's exactly what I put including the dates of the arrest.

Do you guys think I should call up SS and actually tell them what the "theft" was?
Or shall I just leave it?

I'm really scared that il fail vetting.

I did also declare some speeding points as well.

Thanks :)
You will not fail for that I doubt. Just declare it.
