previous prison sentence for violence

Post by Guest » Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:49 am

Hi, I'm just enquiring to whether a previous prison sentence for violence would hinder any chance of progressing through the criminal checks to employment?

I've just passed the initial online tests and have been invited to the next stage.

Any feedback will be welcomed.

As circumstances are different for everyone, it's not a call anyone on here can make.

The only way you can answer this question is to declare it at vetting and let them make their decision.

Not a single person on this forum can tell you whether it will or won't.

I would certainly say a prison sentence will exclude you from being a prison officer!

If not id want to know why not!

I also think it will exclude you from the prison service as it is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You where imprisoned for breaking the law this would undermine your integrity.

I think maybe you yourself can guess the answer to that. But as the old saying goes- can’t hurt to try.
