Need to remember the prison is ours we just let them stay there. So none of this it's there house or own space. You can't go to a hotel and spark up?

I vaguely remember some movie where tons of missing people were returned to the planet including Glen Miller although he was slightly changed and now played reggae

In some YOI they do get gifts, socks or little stocking filler type things. Staff will usually get a longer dinner there will be a little fewer staff on over the whole day because bang up is usually earlier. You will tend to find its harder to bang up the more difficult cons near the end of your day over the festive period.

We're also doing something different again this year for food. Last year I did a tapas which was amazing. This year with be a 3 bird game pie (pheasant, partridge and duck - all shot locally and prepared by yours truly), roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and peas with a home made stuffing.

I am travelling from Bolton . Quite happy about it being residential to be honest - be easier to swot up in the evening if necessary rather than being at home getting interrupted by the family :slty: . You travelling far Morgs27 ?

Ill see you there gents, Im 50 mins away in the Kidderminster area, so it's a daily drive for me. Was nice of them to call me last night at 9pm to offer me the spot.

How long had you been waiting since your RAD guys? 5 months for me.

Also I have been reading up people's reviews on life as a Prison Officer, has anyone ever got anything positive to say about the job?

See you there ! Debating the drive myself on a couple of occasions just to break it up a little bit, only 1hour 30mins. 3 months I was waiting, I thought it would never come around but here I am. In all honesty I have seen mixed reviews, but I can say that around 60% of them have been positive. I suppose everyone has different experiences, obviously with different establishments.

My wait was quite short ...2 months since RAD...Seems to be mixed opinions on the Prison officer role being good /bad..But the new recruits seem to be nearly all positive from what I've read..Im excited for the challenge anyway.
