Merit list

Post by Mxganrhxda » Thu Sep 14, 2017 12:41 am

Hi all...passed RAD 17th August, placed on merit list 23rd August. What does this mean? Has anyone else experienced this, how did it work out for you? :?

Lots of people get merit listed for many different establishments, you could be on it hours, days, weeks or months. It's just of case of patience, gets you into practice for waiting on vetting :slbg: good luck.
RAD 13th June. Pass result 14th June :slyay: . Merit listed 20th June. Applied 2nd establishment 24th June, POST test passed 26th June. Conditional offer 11th July. Accepted & Vetting forms back 12th July :sloo: now waiting :slzi:

(Two posts asking same question as I couldn't see an option to edit my previous post to add prison location...apologies..)

Thanks Karen, I didn't realise it was a common occurance, I do feel better about the situation now!

Length of time on merit list will depend mainly on 2 factors, availability of posts at your chosen establishments and your RAD scores. I was on it 3 days. As it has been stated previously some have been on it hours and others months.
Applied 27/5/2017
RAD 23/6/2017
Rad Results 27/6/2017
Merit Listed 28/6/2017
Conditional Offer 1/7/2017
Vetting 1/7/2017

Passed Vetting 4/8/2017 :slyay:
Start 2/10/2017 :slyay: :slyay: :slyay:

So if you have a fantastic RAD score would you be placed before someone who had a not so good score?

Ooh! Mine are really good but I don't think I'll be merit listed anyway. I think I'll be conditional offer as I have lots of applications so more chance to be in quicker x

So if they place higher rad passes higher in the waiting list theoretically some people could never get jobs then?
Application 15/07/17
RAD 02/08/17
RAD passed 07/08/17
Merit listed 07/08/17 :(

Your RAD last 12 months so theoretically your RAD could expire before getting a conditional offer.
Applied 27/5/2017

Merit Listed 28/6/2017

Here's one for you then... my RAD results were strong. The two areas most people fail on I was A and A*. I have chosen as my first choice a Cat C and a B but rang to say I visited the cat C and I liked the prison could I choose this one as my first choice. I have also got an application for a Cat A. As I have strong RAD scores are they likely to put me in a Cat A first before a B or C?

I couldn't give you a definite answer but it's likely to be the one in greater need of officers.

Sorry if this seems a silly question. Is the merit list and reserve list the same thing? I've just received an email saying I was a strong candidate and I have been placed on the reserve list.
