I had a nightmare, nobody knew I was coming, had to send proof via email from my phone in the car park, was taken to get uniform, placed on a wing and had no induction. Just followed officers around like a spare part.
Had no contact with anybody from HR, infarct not sure they had one. Had to chase up my epilletes, then off to Newbold. Hope your experience is better than mine 😁

That's awful, did they not tell you who to ask For? Did you have contact or meet your mentor prior to your first Day? I've had a few email conversations with my mentor & am going to meet her later this month. It's such a shame that happened to you, it's a nerve wracking experience, starting a new job etc as it is :sloo:

No pre tour of prison, no mentor, the person I was to ask for had left.....also I'm in the wrong pension scheme, the previous poelt s were in the same boat.

Wow, I feel so incredibly bad for you after reading about this whole crappy experience.

I had no idea what to expect on arrival at my establishment last week, but my whole 1st week went like clockwork, amazing staff and an awesome mentor, with absolutely nothing to fault.

So I sure do hope it gets better for you hereafter!!

Newbold is good, first three weeks are all classroom based powerpoint lessons. You also get c and r lessons there good. Food is ok too, then in week 4 you start to do unlocking etc in the cell area. You have to do 12 workbooks, two exams, one of these is a mock exam. It's good fun and the tutors are very supportive. I'll be finished by Dec 22. You'll enjoy it 😁

At Newbold you start at 10 am on Monday, you have 1.5 hours for lunch plus two half hour breaks. The best rooms are st Catherine's worst are still Paul's. Every week you need to work one longer day, that's a 7pm finish. Your class will choose. No mobiles whilst on duty and no bags in class. Finish 12.00 on Friday. That's it anything else you want to know just ask.

That's shocking redruth ! You would hope there was some kind on consistency so everyone around the country gets a similar experience...But your experience seems to be way worse than everyone else's...Dont let it get you down ....As D.ream said (showing my age ) "things can only get better ".
