short sleeve shirts

Post by mattzo027 » Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:22 am

Ok while I'm sulking because I haven't heard yet and I should do anytime now being in the decision stage I thought I would ask something else.

I'm a fan of short sleeve shirts font like long sleeve one's especially white as the cuffs get dirty as hell and I feel some what restricted in them,

Now I also have tattoos, nothing I would deem offensive, one is a help for heroes , one is a Scottish thistle with Scotland under it and the other is a Dragon wrapped around a sword.

Some employers havent allowed me to wear short sleeve because a tattoo is a horrible dirty thing an all that but what is the prisons stand on it, is it an issue or would it be ok? Could I wear short sleeves even with my ink.
Nothing is impossible, just try, try and try again eventually the odds are you will succeed.

I've seen on here before its not really a problem as long as they aren't offensive which is handy as I don't have a lot of places on my arms that aren't tattooed

Tattoos are like a prerequisite for the job. You will see a lot of officers in short sleeved shirts with full tattoo sleeves.

I for one have both arms and hands done and never had any hassle.

Don't want to start a new post so will post on this one. I'm just wondering I have a tattoo that will be visible when in my uniform. And it's got my kids names on should I get it covered removed.
Anyone done this or any advice would be great
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. They will soon no everything about you anyways.

Really? Don't really want them knowing my kids names that's where I definitely draw the line.

I've got my kids names on my forearm. I would rather the prisoners didn't know I had kids but I can't do anything about it now. I hate wearing long sleeves so I will be in short sleeves as well.

I'm thinking of getting it covered. I will be working in a sex offenders prison
Just wondered if anyone had done the same thing it's gonna be a nightmare getting it covered but I will feel better knowing they know nothing!

I personally wouldn't get any tats covered. Just don't tell them anything. If they ask just make a joke about it. Tell them they are your victims names. You had them done as a reminder to never kill again.

I have full sleeves. Kids names on my upper arm but youngest just visible in a short sleeve shirt.

Good advice.
