thought for the day
we must get away from this notion that criminals need to be punished. why should they be punished? :slno: this is an outmoded method of dealing with a person who committed a crime. they should be held in custody, preferably for a short a time as possible, so it doesn't cost too much and if when they are released, they then commit a further crime, well even then they still don't deserve punishment, instead they should be welcomed back into custody, preferably for an even shorter time than previously, so it costs even less than the first time. when released back onto the poor old UK public again, if they commit a further crime again, well - it's to be expected. the UK have a 'REVOLVING DOOR JUSTICE system,' it's not that good at actually providing justice for the UK public, but it is cheap and that's what counts :slsad:

My time line

Post by Baywatch » Fri Feb 24, 2017 8:34 am

Good Morning.

30th Jan. Attended Rad

4th Feb. Notified of passing Rad

8th Feb. Received email with conditional contract for my establishment.

13th Feb. Both employer and character references asked for.

16th Feb. All references sent back to the SS team.

New to all this so not sure if this is quick or the norm. Might be in for a long wait now, who knows. I will update this as I get more info so anyone new can use it as a reference.

7th Feb attend RAD
8th Feb confirmation of successful RAD
23rd Feb conditional offer (received 30mins after a phone call to SS team asking if they had my results, coincidence?)
24th Feb complete online pre employment checks for vetting

Mine wasn't too bad. Applied end of July and passed RAD in August. Was put on a list for a month then had vetting around September. That was cleared in November (overseas police certificate) then was given March 20th 17 start date at a prison in the north west.

You'll do great don't worry!
Just keep calm and listen in your scenarios, try your best at the fitness, and the maths/english part isn't hard at all (make sure you re-read it all after you've filled it in though!)
