New vetting process?

Post by FHNBG » Fri Sep 29, 2017 2:30 pm

I just rang SSCL to get an update and for the first time the lady was very helpful! But she did say I am part of a new HMRC vetting trial, which is supposed to be quicker.

Has anyone been through this process yet, or is anybody else going through it?

Yes I am part of that new process too, but I'm currently at the 2 month mark (bit over that) and no news still. So not sure how it's quicker? But hopefully no news is good news, fingers crossed 🤞

Hello

Not sure of when they started this new hmrc vetting but i have seen many talks about it.

Only 2 of my 3 references have been contacted and my counter signatory has not been contacted but my status has changed to waiting for higher checks. So im guessing they have used Hmrc for the rest of my work history?

Fingers crossed it quicker, my pre employment checks were completed in about 6 weeks.. and referces were sent back about week 5 but now waiting for ctc... That was only submitted couple weeks ago.. No doubt ill be waiting a while though

The new system is quicker but it still depends on your history etc I passed vetting in 8 weeks the quickest I have seen was 3 weeks. If you go to a CAT A you also need a CTC check which can take up to 12 weeks on its own.

19/7 RAD passed
22/7 merit listed
24/7 conditional offer

It's good to hear other people are familiar with it! Does anyone know about what checks they will do for a Cat C YOI?

I have actually passed vetting already, but personal circumstances meant I had to change my choice of location and this has meant I have had to start vetting all over again! Painful process.

Yes I am currently going through that trial. However I passed my RAD in June and still waiting... They have lost my OH form twice but have now confirmed receipt. My nominated person hasn't been contacted either?! Literally have no idea what they have been doing for the past 4 months.

Really? That's pretty bad. My process started in April, and I knew it would be long but it doesn't help when you get a different answer everytime you call! Have read on a couple of threads about a vetting point of contact at your establishment. May try this....

I am quite lucky really. My timeline seems quicker than most. I was on this new vetting system and none of my references were contacted.

Applied - 04/10/17
RAD - 12/10/17
OH assist email - 14/10/17
Passed RAD - 18/10/17
Conditional offer - 27/10/17
Vetting started - 28/10/17
Vetting complete - 01/12/17
POELT start - 02/04/18

Seems a lot of people have had status change lately. Maybe they are pushing to get through as much as possible before Christmas???

Sadly, there is litterally no point in asking questions about vetting. It’s all different and it all takes a different amount of time. You’ll get a different answer from each person. Just look at the 244 pages of “Vetting Blues” ...

It’ll happen though. And you’ll be chuffed. Just be patient and don’t give up.

My vetting started in October and they contacted my previous employer.

There is no rhyme or reason.
