Declining conditional offer

Post by Rachel2909 » Wed Nov 08, 2017 1:39 pm

Hi All,

I'm new here, took rad on Monday, passed yesterday and had a conditional offer last night, however it was for my second choice prison. If I decline do you know if I will get merit listed for a position at My 1st choice or is that the end of the application? Only reason I ask is the second choice is a 70 mile commute each day and first choice is only 10 miles.

Thanks

Only SSCL will be able to advise you on that however, as they say in the military, they have offered you one of the choices you put down, if you don't want it why put it down?

It was a cluster and had to put 1st and 2nd choice. I have emailed SS but heard nothing back from them

SSCL will simply say you can reapply but there is no guarantee you will get your first choice and could be offered the prison you turned down again

Probably best to ring as they usually take at least a week to reply via email

Hi.

I was told that all other offers will be withdrawn. If you turn the offer down you will have to start all over again.

I declined a conditional offer for one within a cluster that was not accessible, though i did not list it as a prison I wanted to work at when I did application. I just emailed them and explained that was why i could not accept it and left the offer sat there. I then received another offer for one I could reach and accepted that one which then automatically declined the original offer.
