Need to remember the prison is ours we just let them stay there. So none of this it's there house or own space. You can't go to a hotel and spark up?

I vaguely remember some movie where tons of missing people were returned to the planet including Glen Miller although he was slightly changed and now played reggae

In some YOI they do get gifts, socks or little stocking filler type things. Staff will usually get a longer dinner there will be a little fewer staff on over the whole day because bang up is usually earlier. You will tend to find its harder to bang up the more difficult cons near the end of your day over the festive period.

We're also doing something different again this year for food. Last year I did a tapas which was amazing. This year with be a 3 bird game pie (pheasant, partridge and duck - all shot locally and prepared by yours truly), roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and peas with a home made stuffing.

Any tips and tricks that’s can help?

Post by Venting » Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:31 am

Hi, I recived my email from my RAD day yesterday 13/11/2017 saying that I had passed and all my details where being passed on, just wondering any time scales etc, as sad as it sounds I cannot stop thinking about it and although I shouldn’t I’m getting a resentment against my current job. Thanks all in advance

I'm guessing as you were emailed your result you weren't told on the day and then given your vetting forms?

1 of 2 things will now happen, you will either recieve an email informing you that you are only the merit/reserve list, in which case you could be waiting a long time or a short time on that list or secondly an email offering you a conditional offer and you will start the vetting process.

The vetting process can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months and no matter how many times you phone or email SSCL they will tell you that no news is good news.

I wish I could tell you a set time and process but there isn't one.

Congrats on passing the RAD.

The only thing I know is that the prison I’ve applied for is setting on 50 new positions that I’ve applied for so I’m hoping they are struggling to staff therefor will hopefully speed my process up, who knows thanks for your replies though

All the ad sets say there are 50 vacancies that's just to make them look good and to meet the gov targets of 2500 recruits

Had my results yesterday also, and I have to say its been the longest 24 hours since! It would be nice to receive the call today/tomorrow to let me know if I have a conditional offer or I have been put on the merit list.

I have the feeling though its gonna be a while before I know anything.

You won't get a call, maybe an email at a push or a steria update.

I don't think my Steria account has changed once since I applied it still just shows 'Application Update'.

I will have to keep an eye on my emails and refresh it a couple of billion times a day till it arrives.

Be at the armoury for 3am to withdraw you weapons at 0800hrs. You cant beat an inefficient system.
