I've been waiting for my vetting to come through for HMP Feltham now since June, even if it came through this month I would look to start the course after Christmas now just for ease.
If you could let me know how you find it all up there, I'd be grateful.
Anyway, good luck with the course, I hope to see you on the landings in due course.

Hey guys, I'm new and currently going through the process.. Had my familiarisation day at Feltham on the 28/9 and RAD on the 12/10 failed my maths by 1 mark - awaiting email for resit..
Hope to see you guys on the landings next year !!

I'm sorry I'm going to be a bit offtopic, but I was wondering, Missi, if you had an interview as well on your familiarisation day? I've read here that in some places they're interviewing people on the familiarisation day and I was curious if it's the case at Feltham. Any detail about it would be wonderful. (I would have asked in a pm, but apparently you can't receive one yet.)

Hello, I'm not sure why it states interview as there didn't appear to be one. I (along with 5 others) had a partial tour of the prison, met a couple of prisoners then we conversed for the rest of the time with various staff talking about their experiences and what the job entails. They asked us individually to introduce ourselves i.e. background, knowledge, experience if any and that was it. Got handed a booklet and some info and filled out a questionnaire and feedback form. More of a group discussions than interview. Staff were very welcoming and helpful - had biscuits too :slbg:

I passed the online tests!! Hooray! I have my familiarisation day soon! Just wondering.... what on earth do I wear??!! I don’t want to appear too office-ey (current work style) but not too casual either! Any input welcome! I’m so excited!!

Even tho it's not a formal interview personally I would go in the same style of dress as u would as this instance is the first time that the staff have met you and you want to give and lasting first impression
