Pilot RAD - Anybody out there?

Post by freyaaar » Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:12 am

Hello!

I'm looking for other applicants who went through the pilot RAD. I don't know how many prisons they are trialling it at but essentially it's a quicker recruitment process (there's no more role plays, iPad based videos instead) and you are given your offer on the same day, if you pass of course!

I read so many threads of people in vetting on here who have been through the national recruitment system so some of it doesn't appear relevant to me (don't understand what CTC is for instance?). I want to hear from some people who also went through a pilot RAD over the last couple of months if there are any of you out there to see how your vetting is getting on?!

Cheeeers :-)
Application: 21st August
Online Tests Complete: 31st August
RAD (Passed & Vetting Started): 18th September
OH Assist Completed: 6th October
Waiting on checks to clear!

CTC is Counter Terrorism Checks.

The wait generally comes after the conditional offer. I would have thought vetting would be be same for everyone as everyone are having the same checks.

I got the conditional offer confused with provisional offer.

I had my OH health questionaire email yesterday so at least its moving forward.

They said approx 30 days to complete vetting so i am only 6 days in so i have a long wag to go yet lol

Jesus that was quick! I done the online test and then I had to wait 2 weeks for a familiarisation visit to my establishment (which is this coming Monday) going on this time frame I will be retiring on my start day.

I thought the 30 day turnaround was from start of application to start of vetting i.e online test - RAD - Offer with 30 days. I don't think they can do the vetting within the time period :-)

Yes, Id be incredibly surprised if Vetting is included within the 30-day turnaround timescale.

Id most definitely think not... but, modern-day miracles do still happen on the odd occasion :slre:

When i attended RAD i asked about the pilot scheme. They tood me the 30 day turn around was from RAD day to conditional offer. After that its waiting for poelt start date. She did say that Cat A prisons are taking a few days longer but lower Cats are going through quicker as they dont require CTC.

Im almost 2 weeks on the vetting train. My reference has not been contacted yet but i have sent back my OH Assist form so i know its moving forward.

The forums are hard foe us on the pilot as many people here as in the normal long drawn out process so advice and info is somewhat confusing for us.

Im not getting ahead of myself so i will just wait another couple of weeks until the month has come and then contact them to see where i am at.

If it's RAD day to conditional offer it isn't going to be any quicker as vetting is out of their control and that only starts once you accept a conditional offer.
